John was the son of Jean Baptiste Becquet and Julie Lefebre. He married Aglae Forestier, daughter of Jean Baptiste Joseph Forestier and Euphrasie Hedurge Blasart, 8 May 1886 in Givenchy En Gohella, France.
After John and Aglae were married, they worked in a "Millinery Shop" that belonged to Aglae's parents in France. In 1906 John and Aglae moved to Garden City, Finney County, Kansas.
John worked for the Garden City Company as a "grounds landscape" gardener and caretaker and retired in 1928.
Preceding John in death was his wife, Aglae who died 13 Nov 1916. Surviving were three sons, John Baptiste Becquet, Jr., Norbert Becquet, & Louis Becquet.
