William Benjamin "Bill" Brandt
Birth: Apr. 22, 1886
Philadelphia County
Pennsylvania, USA
Death: Jun. 6, 1971
Navajo County
Arizona, USA

Bill and his brother Lew were orphaned at an early age. Siblings passed at an early age:
Rebecca Reynolds Brandt 1883-1886
Minnie Hamsher Brandt 1884-1886
John Raymond Brandt 1887-1888
and Joseph Arthur Brandt 1889-1890.

The family lived in Big Springs, Cumberland Co, PA. before Bill resided in Philadelphia Ward 29, Philadelphia, PA. Census shows Bill as a student in 1900 at age of 14 years of age.

Bill registered for WWI, 1918, PA Serial #1830 Order #1275.

He became a bookkeeper/accountant. Bill moved to NM where he lived near Albuquerque Bernalillo NM to work for the AT&SF Railway section department. Bill and Lew spent a lot of time with the Burroughs family section crew housing. This is where he met Veda Ann Burroughs. There was a big age difference. He would bounce Veda on his knee and say that he would wait for her to grow up so he could marry her! He did! They did!

Bill and Veda moved to Winslow, Navajo Co, AZ where he continued to work for AT&SF Railway. Bill enjoyed playing Pinochle and poker at the Elks Lodge. He had a great sense of humor, medium height, brown eyes, light brown hair and slender man who seemed to always have a cigar in his hand while he would sit for hours on their front porch swing.
