For some reason we don't know he stopped using his given name of Joseph and began using John. That made it difficult to find any information about him after 1940. Thanks to a photo request on Findagrave I discovered he was using the name John. I was then able to find information about him through his Social Security application & Colorado Death Certificate. Fortunately, his Social Security application shows that he was using the name John but that his birth name was Joseph and his Mother was Winnie Lee Morelock.
His first wife, Minnie Gertrude Tyler, & he had four children together. She left Joseph in Kansas and took their children & returned to Lee County, Virginia.
Joseph remarried to Eva. They had no children. Joseph's son Frank, by Minnie, moved back to Kansas near his Father and eventually took over his restaurant.
NOTE: Little Cemetery is NOT located in what looks like a town. Google Maps does not show a city/town called Little. It seems like it's more of a community. I was using my GPS to locate it and luckily I was looking to the side and saw the cemetery while the GPS said it was still a few miles south of where I was. It's on US 377 just a few miles (2-4) south of where you exit I-40. It's several miles north of Seminole.
