Muriel Eleanor Robinson Kennedy Williamson, 87 passed away on September 10, 2010 just 13 days short of her 88th birthday at home in Caldwell, Idaho. Muriel was born on September 23, 1922 in Tacoma, Washington, the only child of Arthur Everett and Mabel Elsie Robinson.
As a child Muriel enjoyed a close bond of loving companionship with her mother Mabel as they had countless adventures exploring the many interesting and changing sights of a never ending growth of Tacoma. Muriel's father Arthur struggled through the depression but still managed to dote on her as often as possible with a lot of loving attention and little gifts.
Muriel met her first husband James Ray Kennedy, only child of Ross Taylor and Marie Agnes Kennedy, while attending Stadium High School in Tacoma and married him on May 9, 1942 in Tacoma, Washington. Two children were born of this union, James Ross Kennedy and Linda Jean Kennedy both in Tacoma.
In 1958 Ray and Muriel moved their family to Oak Harbor Washington on Whidbey Island where Muriel secured a job with the Civil Service as a telephone operator at NAS Whidbey Island, a job that she was not only very good at but deeply loved.
Muriel and Ray divorced in 1969 and Muriel remarried Gerald Williamson in 1971, a marriage that lasted for one year.
In 1984 Muriel retired from her position at NAS Whidbey Island and moved to Boise, Idaho to be closer to family. During the next 10 years she worked many jobs, some that she enjoyed but none as fulfilling as her telephone operator position with the Navy. Most of her time was spent enjoying her family, especially her great grandchildren and taking trips to Virginia to spend time with her son and his wife.
Muriel's family and friends will remember her best by her intense love, loyalty and generosity for her family and her amusing little idiosyncrasies. Muriel's vast love also included most animals and she rarely lived without the comfort of a furry cat or dog sharing her life and home. A sense of humor was a must for a happy and content life in Muriel's eyes and this has been gratefully and jubilantly passed along to her heirs.
Preceded in her passing are her parents Arthur and Mabel Robinson, first husband James Ray Kennedy and daughter in-law Betty Kennedy second wife of James. Left behind is her son James Kennedy of Virginia, his son Zachary of McCall, Idaho and Zachary's mother, Pamela Kennedy of Washington State. In addition she leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Jim Rodgers with their daughters Sherri and her husband Jim Campbell and their children Tyson and Jordan all of McCall, Idaho and Lori and her husband Chris Laursen and children Angela and Kendra all of Caldwell, Idaho.
Muriel's family would like to thank the staff of Hearts for Hospice for all of the precious support and help they have received during this difficult time. We believe that Muriel's long life included many moments of love and happiness and that she is now peacefully at rest in the arms of an angel.
