Lester Norman Stillwell was only 37 years old when he passed on. He died at Evergreen Sanatorium of tuberculosis on November 5, 1958.
Lester was born in Quay, Oklahoma on October 3, 1921. He was raised in the Shawnee, Oklahoma and Seminole, Oklahoma areas. His father, John David Stillwell, worked in and around the oil fields in the Seminole area. It was while living in the Seminole area, Lester met Thelma Lee Teague. She became his first wife on July 18, 1942. His young bride would fall victim to a terrible shooting accident and die on August 7, 1948.
For many years Lester was in and out of the T.B. hospital in Clinton, Oklahoma.
While there he met, fell in love with and married another patient. Her name was Lenora Belle Cooper. They were married in a simple ceremony in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma May 14,1954. She was by his side when he died. She remarried many years later but always professed her love for Lester. Upon her death May 9, 1994, her wishes were honored and she was laid to rest next to her only true love, Lester Norman Stillwell.
