Verne Garrison, 73, of 3511 Westcliff Road S., founder and partner in a Fort Worth insurance agency, died Sunday in a hospital here.
A Dallas native, Garrison was associated with Trezdvant and Cochran Insurance there from 1919-1934. In 1935 he joined Millers Mutual Insurance in Fort Worth and in 1947 established Ryan-Richards-Garrison.
He was one of the early members of the Texas Automobile Service Checking Office in Austin which establishes car insurance rates.
Garrison was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife; two sons; two daughters; a brother, Carl O. Garrison of Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. H. C. Enas of Fort Worth, and 16 grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Young Life Campaign of Colorado Springs, Colo., or the American Bible Society.
