John Bohach was born in Kormagry, Zemplin County, Austria-Hungry (Slovakia), the Son of Michael and Anna Hriczko Fedor Bohach. He was married to Anna Martinko, who died in 1942.
He emigrated to the United States in 1902 and was employed for the former Carnegie-Illinois Steel in Farrell, retiring in 1945.
He was the father of 14 children: George Bohach 1900-1983, Mary Bohach 1902-1903, John R Bohach 1903-1953, Anna Bohach Husosky 1907-1996, Jospeh Bohach 1909-1989, Julia Bohach 1910-1926, Helen Bohach Ladjevich 1913-1965, Mary Bohach Crisan Kachic 1914-2004, Margaret Bohach Ulaz 1917-1993, Andrew Bohach 1919-1969, Elizabeth Bohach 1921-1925, Steven Bohach 1923-1923 and Bertha Bohach Turk 1926-1960.
Grandfather to 24, Great-Grandfather to 49, and Great-great Grandfather to 5.
He was one of the founding fathers of St. Michaels. A member of G.C.U. for 70 years, he organized Lodge No. 370 in 1932 and served as its president until its consolidation with G.C.U. Lodge No 258 in 1940. He attended many GCU national conventions as a delegate. He was also a member and officer, of the Farrell Slovak Home, his last position, Sargent of Arms.
John died at age 97 of congestive heart failure at the home of his daughter Mary Kachic, caregiver.
John was a gentle man, beloved by so many friends and family.
