Wanda was born July 19, 1926 in Stephenville, Texas to Doyle & Dovie Halbert. Wanda married Thomas Alexander on Friday, Oct. 5, 1945. Wanda, age 86, died on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 in Fort Collins, Colorado due to liver cancer.
Tom & Wanda have two sons, Harold and David who survive them; also David and Kristy who are grandchildren. In addition, Tom & Wanda's great grandchildren are Hunter and Daphne. Three of the seven Halbert children, brother and sisters to Wanda, are still living; Wilburn, Doylene, and Francis.
Wanda loved little dogs her whole life and like to drive and travel. Wanda was a military wife (20 years) and traveled/lived in England and California. During her life, she made paper cups for Lily Corporation in San Bernardino, Calif.; leaded glass windows in Stephenville, Texas and sewing quilts for charity in Johnstown, Colo.
Wanda and Tom traveled to all Fifty States and this was a goal during their marriage, which they achieved. Their "high point" was traveling to Hawaii and was one of their best vacations! Both desired cremation and their remains are scattered in Hawaii, their final resting place.

~~~~ღ ღღ ღღ ღღ ღღ ღღ ღღ ღ~~~~My precious Aunt Wanda. Sister of my mom. She was one of those people you could count on, trust and knew was on your side. She helped my mom out a lot during her battle with cancer. Even leaving her home in Waco and coming to stay with my mom. The last few letters I received from her were very sad, because she was so sick. She told me she was ready to go, because she knew as her eyes closed in death, they would open in heaven. She was sad over her little dog and leaving her behind, but the last month or so of her life she found someone to take her. WANDA I AM SAD TO HEAR OF YOUR PASSING, BUT KNOW YOU ARE WITH OUR LORD. I WILL SEE YOU SOON.ღ ღღ ღღ ღღ ღღ ღღ ღღ ღ~~~~
In addition to all the things they made, I have several beautiful necklaces. I also have a beautiful leaded glass light fixture they made for me. My mom sewed all of her cloths. When my mom passed away, Wanda took scraps from all the dresses she had made and made me a quilt. It is simply beautiful. She told me it took her the longest time to finish, because of the tears she cried when remembering seeing mom in this dress or that one. I gave this quilt to my son and his wife and they have it displayed on a quilt rack. Oh Wanda, you did so much for others, I am so sad about the end!
