Aloys O. Bader
Aloys O. "Sam" Bader of 719 Ninth Ave. died Monday May 1, at Longmont United Hospital following a short illness. He was 78.
Mr. Bader was born in Newman's Grove, Neb., Jan 6, 1894 and was married to Nellie Ann Neiman, Feb. 26, 1921 at Benkleman, Neb. He farmed in eastern Colorado and then worked as a coal miner in the St. Vrain Valley after coming to Longmont in 1927.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the I.O.O.F., No. 29 in Longmont and was a past noble Grand.Mr. Bader was also a member of the Columbus Encampment, No. 18 and the U.M.W.A. local 1388.
He is survived by his wife of Longmont; two (mdp) daughters, Mrs. William (Mildred) Persons of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mrs. Robert (Mary Ellen) Zaitz of Leadville; a brother, Fred Bader of Boulder; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Ingalls of Denver, Mrs. Verna Garrett of Mission, Kan., and Mrs. Anna McCommon of Whittier, Calif., seven grandchildren (mdp) and two great-grandchildren.
A son, three sisters and one grandson preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Howe Mortuary Chapel with burial at Foothills Gardens of Memory. Friends are asked to contribute to the Heart Fund in care of Howe Mortuary.
