Fred Guy Sanders, Jr., born in Jonesville, SC on August 14, 1935, died at his home in Stanfield, NC, on March 30, 2011. Guy was the husband of Salle’ Williams Sanders, and a son of Frances "Frankie" Koger Sanders Holmes and the late Fred Guy Sanders, Sr. He graduated from Jonesville High School and attended Clemson University.
Guy was predeceased by his father Fred Guy Sanders, Sr.; infant brother Francis Boyd Sanders; daughter Kim Lorraine Sanders Ford; great-grandchildren Evan and Lana Ford; and step-father Whitman Ben Holmes.
He was survived by his wife Salle Sanders of the home; mother Frankie Holmes of Carmel Hills Retirement Community in Charlotte, formerly of Jonesville, SC; brother Ronald Koger Sanders of Arlington, VA; daughter Krystal Sanders Beckner and husband Jeff of St. Louis, MO; son Mitchell Sanders of Spartanburg, SC; son Ricky Martin and wife Martha of Pensacola, FL; daughter Lee Ann Martin and husband Bill Weatherspoon of Raleigh, NC; son-in-law Roger Ford; grandson Kristopher Guy Sanders and wife Anna; grandson Josh Ford and wife Michelle, granddaughter Kathryn Ford; grandchildren Cameron, Julia, Allison, Ethan and Zachary Beckner; and great-grandchildren Andrew Holmes, Lexie Ford, Lora Ford, Tyson Sanders and Naya Sanders.
A memorial service was held in Charlotte on Saturday, April 2, 2011. Interment was later at Fosters Chapel United Methodist Church in Kelton, SC.
