Roger Joseph Farley was the son of Clarence and Laura (Gamelin) Farley.
While attending high school in North Adams, MA, he met and fell in love with Dorothy Richmond. He married his beloved Dorothy on 8 January 1945 in an Army Chapel in Texas. Their honeymoon ended with Dorothy disguised as a soldier riding a troop train home, and Roger shipping overseas to Europe, where he fought in France and Germany.
On returning home, he worked for the Civil Service and retired from the Federal government as the Chief Property Disposal Officer at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee, MA.
Roger and Dorothy had two children, Michael Roger and Wendy.
Roger enjoyed bowling, jitterbugging, watching sports and comedy shows, and listening to Big Band music. He was a licensed Amateur Radio operator, known as W1EZD and participated in many contests. He was a member of the Civil Defense, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and St Patrick's parish.
Of all his accomplishments, including receiving Bronze Stars and Outstanding Achievement Awards, he most cherished being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Roger is survived by his daughter Wendy, his granddaughter, "Little Sweetie" Megan, and Barnacle Mew Farley, the family cat.
