JOHNSTON CITY -- Georgia Long, 73, or Johnston City, passed away at 7:28AM Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at her family home.
Services will be at 1PM Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, with the Rev. Larry Marrs officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Georgia was born Jan. 28, 1932, in West Frankfort, the daughter of George and Mary Serena (Beaver) Gardner.
She married Darrell G. Long on Aug. 30, 1950, in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2005.
Georgia was a retired school teacher. She had taught at Jefferson Grade School in Johnston City for 21 years.
She was a member of Gospel Mission Church of Johnston City.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Clendenin and husband, Ronald of Johnston City; a grandson, Joshua Lee Clendenin; a brother, William Gardner and wife, Connie of Johnston City; and several neices, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a half brother, Beulan Hamlin.
