Wife of Peter Meurer.
Peter (age 30), Johanna (age 29), and daughters Sibilla Johanna (age 3) and Catherine (4 months) entered the United States May 26, 1883 on ship named Zaandam at Castlegarden in NY. They emigrated from Cologne, Germany, to Missouri.
In the US, they had several more children. In 1900, the census shows that they had had 7 children, 4 of whom were living. These included Johann, Catherine, Ferdinand Peter and John. They lived at 4116 Gratiot St.
At death, in 1921, she was living at Anna Lee Ave.

MEURER--Entered into rest Sunday, May 22, 1921, at 9:15p.m. Johanna Meurer (nee Bellinghauser) dearly beloved wife of Peter Meurer, dear mother of Mrs. P. Heidenfelder, Mrs. M. Ewers, Peter and John Meurer, dear mother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandmother and aunt, aged 67 years.
Funeral Wednesday, May 25, at 8:30a.m., from Krieghauser's chapel, 4102 Manchester avenue, to St. Bernard's Church. Interment at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
Deceased was a member of St. Elizabeth's Married Ladies' Sodality, St. Bernard's Parish.
