Ursa Mae Boatwright was born to Bentley Mumford Boatwright & Clarence Zillafro Ehrman on November 29,1899, the 9th of 13 children. She was known as "Ursie" to her immediate family growing up, but later changed her name to Ursa. She was raised on a farm in Lampkin, Comanche Co., TX. She taught school for a year after graduating from high school and then moved to the big city of Dallas, TX. She was working at Coleman Lantern Company when she met Ben Taylor, her husband of 72 years, who retired as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trinity Universal Insurance Company. They married on April 30, 1921 and had 2 children, Ben Jr. and Nancy.
She was always taking care of family and friends in need. "Nana" as she was called by family, was loved and had many friends. She never met a stranger and had compassion for all! She loved watching the Dallas Cowboys play football. She lived to be almost 100 years old.
