Catharine was the widow of the late John H. Hoover who died March 17, 1926. She then moved to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herbert C. Brubaker of Cross Keys where she died at 5:40 a.m. Sunday morning following extended complications. She most recently fell in her room fracturing her left hip.

Mrs. Hoover was born in Henry county, Ind., Sept. 25, 1851, the daughter of John H. and Barbara Ullery Replogle and she was 75 years, 7 mo., and 13 days at her death.

Her family moved to Jefferson County, Kans., where she married John H. Hoover of Pennsylvania Feb. 13, 1870 in Lawrence, Kans. In 1876 they came to Blair county, PA, where they spent their remaining years in Morrison Cove and later on a farm in Carson Valley. After retiring from active farming about ten years ago they came to Cross Keys to reside.

There were twelve children born to this union, six boys and six girls, with the following surviving: Louis R. and Elmer R. Hoover, both of Roaring Spring; William E. Hoover of Pittsburgh, Charles W. and Mahlon E. Hoover, both of Duncansville, RD; Mrs. Alice Siffler, Mrs. Ella Hoover, Mrs. Mary Brubaker, Mrs. Minnie Brubaker, Mrs. Hattie Brubaker and Mrs. Bertha Stom, all of Cross Keys. One son, Franklin, is deceased following a fatal accident with a run-away team of horses.

She is also survived by one brother, Lew Replogle of Brooklyn, N.Y., and three sister, Mrs. Mary Burgess of Hagerstown, Ind., Mrs. Sarah Bowman of Anderson Ind., Mrs. Ida Deardorff of Patterson, Calif. There are sixty-two grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren, most recently, the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. She was widely known for her patient and kindly disposition, as well as her devotion to home and church.

Services held at 9:30 a.m. in her church by Elder D. B. Maddocks with interment at the Albright Cemetery near Roaring Spring.
