Earl Dill BROWN (1900-1969) + Lillie Bell (HAGLER) (1901-1988) were married 09 July 1921 in Bell County, Texas. They had only one child, Lillie Marie (BROWN) (1922-1995).
Occupation : Earl was farming when he and Lillie married ; later, began his career with the Santa Fe Railroad by working on the paint gang ; ended his career as a signal maintainer.
As a signal maintainer, Earl would be called any time day or night in the middle of the worst ice, snow, hail, or thunder storm to fix a signal that was malfunctioning. He never complained about the harsh conditions.
Lillie would fix him a thermos of hot coffee and a sack lunch as he set off to fix the problem so the trains could run safely. He used a motorcar powered by his pumping the handle for most of his career. Toward the end of his career, he got a motorized motorcar.
