Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hayes came to Kansas in March of 1882 with her parents. She was 13 going on 14 at the time. She told of traveling from Ohio to Kansas in a covered wagon. She married Frederick R. Dorei in Hiawatha, Kansas 17 Feb 1886. She raised a daughter, Florence and a son, Murlin, and later helped raise Fred's nephew Freddie Fouth after his mother died. Fred and Lizzie lived on a farm just north of the Hamlin, Kansas cemetery.
