Margylain Mozelle Owens O'Banion
Birth: Apr. 7, 1938
Mayes County
Oklahoma, USA
Death: Aug. 7, 2010
Mayes County
Oklahoma, USA

Margylain "Mozelle" was born April 7, 1938 in Pryor, Ok. to John Owens and Dulsa Mae Collins Owens. Mozelle and her first husband, Carl Hurley, had two children, a son, Carl Hurley Jr.,who preceded her in death in 1981, and a daughter, Cathy Hurley Griffin of Pryor, Ok., with whom she had been living for the last few years of her life.

Mozelle spent her life making a home for her family. She was an exceptional seamstress and enjoyed keeping a beautiful yard. Mozelle ran the Election Board in Salina, Ok. for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Salina, Ok.

Mozelle was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Linley Neil O'Banion in 2006. She never got over loseing him. She talked all the time about how much she loved and missed him.

Mozelle had four brothers, Troy, John Levi, Beecher and James Cecil, who died when he was a year old, and five sisters, Dorothy, Geneva, Lucy, Ethel, and Merrill, all of whom preceded her in death.

Mozelle was my Aunt. Her brother, Beecher, was our dad. She spent lots of time playing with my twin brother and me, when we were babies. Mozelle was 10 years old when we were born. She thought we were the most precious babies in the whole world. She was pleased that our Mother would leave us in her care.

Our parents divorced when we were small, and we lost contact with Aunt Mozelle for many years. We got back in contact with her through Find A Grave. It meant so much to me and my twin brother, Junior, and my little sister, Pixie. We were able to go visit her a few times and talk with her on the phone, before she passed away. We loved her very much and will miss her.

Mozelle was a really neat gal. She was so easy to talk with, she told things just like they were. She loved her coffee and cigarettes. I think it made her happy to see her brother, Beecher's, little kids all grown up. Mozelle was always so beautiful, even at 72.

Aunt Mozelle was in a lot of pain near the end of her life. I think she was ready to go be with her Lord and Savior, and with Neil and her little son, Carl Jr., and her parents, and all her brothers and sisters. She will be very missed by her family and friends.
