Father Arthur Fauser, age 83, of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, entered eternal life peacefully at the Motherhouse of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary [IHM], Monroe, Michigan, on April 1, 2009, after struggling with heart problems and other ailments. He was 83 years old.
Fr. Fauser was born October 20, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Arthur W. Fauser Sr. and the late Mary A. (nee: Timlin) Fauser. He was baptized at St. Charles Church in Detroit on November 8, 1925. He received his first Holy Communion and was confirmed at St. Paul on the Lake, Grosse Pointe, in May of 1933. After graduation from St. Paul on the Lake High School in June of 1942, he entered Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit, where he received his bachelor's degree and philosophical training for the priesthood. He later attended Mt. St. Mary's Graduate Theological Seminary in Norwood, Ohio, until the time of his ordination.
Once he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on May 20, 1950 at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral by the Archbishop Edward Mooney, Father Arthur Fauser served many parishes through the Archdiocese. These include:

In addition to his many parochial assignments, Fr. Fauser served the Archdiocese of Detroit in other capacities, which included: A member of the College of Consultors, a member of the Presbyteral Council, and an Archdiocesan Vicar.
He touched many, many hearts throughout his lifetime of priestly service. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kind leadership, and devotion to the people of God.
Fr. Arthur was the beloved brother of Alice (the late Bernard) Huitink, and the late John (Patricia) Fauser. He is also survived by his cherished family members including the Bernard Fauser Family, and his dear friends Sr. Helen Williams, I.H.M., and Rev. Fr. Douglas Bignall and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur W. and Mary A. Fauser.
Visitation will be held Friday 6-9 pm and Saturday 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile). Father Arthur will lie in state Sunday 4 pm until the time of the Evening Vigil 7 pm, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Fr. Arthur will have additional visitation at the church on Monday from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Liturgy beginning at 11 am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be the Most Reverend Allen H. Vigneron Archbishop of Detroit. Private interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.

Our brother and fellow priest, Father Arthur W. Fauser, entered eternal life on
Wednesday, April 1, at the age of 83.
Father Fauser was born on October 20, 1925 in Detroit, and ordained a priest for
the Archdiocese of Detroit on May 20, 1950.
His many assignments included serving as associate pastor at St. James Parish,
Ferndale; Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Lincoln Park; Our Lady of Good Counsel
Parish, Detroit; St. Hugo of the Hills Parish, Bloomfield Hills; St. Mel Parish, Dearborn
Heights; and Sacred Heart Parish, Roseville. He served as pastor at St. Joseph Parish,
Erie; St. Martin de Porres Parish, Warren; Our Lady Queen of Hope Parish, Detroit;
St. Albert the Great Parish, Dearborn Heights; and Our Lady Queen of All Saints Parish,
Father Fauser will be waked at Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover,
Warren (586-751-0444). Visitation will take place on Friday, April 3, from 6 until 9 p.m.,
and will resume on Saturday, April 4, from 2 until 9 p.m. On Sunday, April 5, Father's
body will be moved to St. Martin de Porres Parish, 31555 Hoover, Warren (586-264-7515),
at 4 p.m., and visitation will continue, with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
Father Fauser's body will lie in state at St. Martin de Porres Parish on Monday,
April 6, from 10 a.m. until the celebration of his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Private burial will
take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.
Father Fauser is survived by his sister, Alice (the late Bernard) Huitink; the
Bernard Fauser family; and his dear friends, Sister Helen Williams, I.H.M.; and
Father Douglas Bignall and family.
