Elna Agnes Jennings Cowley
Birth: Dec. 2, 1882
Columbia County
Wisconsin, USA
Death: May 10, 1964
Barron

Wisconsin, USA

She was my hero, a wonderful Grandma, neighbor and friend. She, like Charley, was born in Springvale, Columbia Co. WI. They married in 1902. Her father was Homer D Jennings and mother was Fidelia Ann Meredith.

Elna was a School teacher for awhile, a Sunday school teacher, and a crafter, working on quilts, crocheting rugs, writing poems and making kid Scrapbooks from paper sacks, homemade paste and pictures from Seed catalogs with her poems beside each picture. Her sour cream sugar cookies were wonderful and she often churned her own butter.

She gave me lovely memories. Gardening was a favorite chore and I learned to love it from watching her and how she preserved the food. Grandma passed away on a Mother's Day.
