Peter Demos, 61, of 251 Nottingham St., died at home Thursday following a long illness. He was born in Kalavrita, Greece and had lived here for 35 years. He was a member of St. George's Greek Orthodox Memorial Church. He leaves his wife,Catherine Demos ; three sons, Theodore of Hartford, James of this city and
Louis in the Army at Ft. Dix, N.J.; four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Tole, Mrs. Jennie Goulet, Mrs. Christine Koretz and Mrs. Alexandra Roda all of this city, and several grandchildren. The funeral will be held Saturday at l p.m. at the Madamas Funeral Home with services in St. George's Greek Orthodox Memorial Church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetary. Calling hours at the funeral home are today from 3-5 and 7-10 p.m.
(Note: he purchased the Dwight St. Candy Company on the corner of Dwight and Worthington in Springfield. Then renamed the restaurant "Teddy's Luncheonette" to honor his son, Theodore's return from WW 2. Peter later suffered with diabetes, and eventually became blind.)
