WAGNER -- Luin Fern, 63, of Central City, died at 9 p.m. Jan. 14, 1954, at Veterans Hospital, Altoona. Born in Shade Township Jan. 19, 1890, a son of Joseph Walbeck Wagner (1848-1927) and Naomi Specht (1862-1911.) Survived by widow, the former Mayme Shaffer; a son, Lt. Joseph W., Meadville; a daughter, Mrs. John Caruthers, North Bessemer, and two granddaughters; also two sisters -- Mrs. Earl T. Lohr, Somerset, and Mrs. H. K. Glessner, 2288 Menoher Boulevard, Johnstown. Long-time member of the Graeff Lutheran Church, Cairnbrook, held various offices of the church. Merchant in Central City for 27 years and director of the First National Bank, Stoystown. Served in the 80th Division, AEF. in France and Germany in World War I. Member of Somerset Blue Lodge F & AM, Pittsburgh Consistory, Jaffa Shrine, Shade Lions Club, Central City Post 449 American Legion. Services at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Graeff Lutheran Church, Rev. G. Summerville Hoff. Interment, Richland Cemetery. Friends received after 1 p.m. Saturday at Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City, until 10 a.m. Monday when remains will be taken to church to lie in state until time of service. Masonic order will hold memorial rites at graveside.
