Goldie A. Karns, 81, of Mechanicsburg passed away Thursday, July 15th, 2010 at Holy Spirit Hospital.
Mrs. Karns was born in Brandtsville, on June 4, 1929, the daughter of the late Charles B. and Hazel (Peffer) Hosler.
She was a member of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church Mechanicsburg, Band of Hope Sunday School Class, High Spirits widows group, former president and member of TOPS, Trindle Springs Travelers, Mechanicsburg Senior Adult Center, TLC Entertainers, and Silver Springs Women's Club.
Goldie was Den Mother and Council Women for Cub Pack 180, a volunteer for New Hope Ministries, and was a graduate of the 1st Adult Education of Cumberland Valley.
She was the widow of Paul W. Karns.
Goldie is survived by her daughter Joyce wife of Karl Stine of Mechanicsburg, 5 sons, Ronald husband of Nancy Karns of Enola, Robert husband of Betty Karns of Carlisle, Rick Karns and Partner Donnie of Casselberry, FL, David Karns and John Karns of Mechanicsburg, 3 sisters Gladys Pechart of Camp Hill, Dorothy Heiges and Janet Hosler of Dillsburg 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by grandson Billy Karns, 2 brothers Bruce and Charles Hosler, a sister Mary Belle Pechart.
Funeral Services will be held in Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, 11:00 on Tuesday, July 20th, with The Reverend Sigrid R. Hipkiss and The Reverend Richard G. Lorenz officiating.
There will be a viewing Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Myers Funeral Home and Tuesday from 10 to 11 am in her church.
Burial will be in Trindle Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Ministries 5228 East Trindle Road Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
