William H. Corl Jr., age 51 years, was the son of the late William H. Corl, Sr. and Margaret (Nissley) Corl. He was the owner and operator of Corl's Flower Shop and Garden Center of Harrisburg. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II where he spent the war in the Philippine Island. He was also a veteran of the Korean War,where he received shrapnal wounds and was awarded a Purple Heart. He had a total of 12 years of military service.
December 23 1941 he married Betty Hoffman, a nurse he met when he was visiting his sister Sarah Corl in the Polyclinic Hospital.
This union produced three children, William Edward,(1947) Bonnie Lee (1948) and Robert Lynn Corl (1951) just before going to Korea.
At the time of his death he was survived by all his children and brothers and sisters.
He was survived by his brother, Jack Corl, and sisters Sarah Wilbert and Barbara Ann Zeigler.
He lived to see the first birthday of his grandson William Mathew Corl, son of William E.
He was a member of the Blue Mountain Lions Club of Susquehanna Twp.; a Mason; Robert Burns Lodge; and Allied Florist's Association of Harrisburg.
His funeral was held at the Fisher Funeral Home with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
