Ival Jose Wayne Vincent
Birth: Mar. 22, 1943
Tulare County
California, USA
Death: Nov. 14, 2012
Jalisco, Mexico

Wayne Vincent was born March 22, 1943 in Visalia, California, the 7th of ten children. He lost his battle with prostate cancer on November 14, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Vincent, mother Flora Mae Vincent, of Elk City, Oklahoma, and sister Charlotte Vincent Zimmerman of Omaha, Nebraska.

When Wayne was a child, his family moved many times in and between California and Oklahoma. Wayne was a 1961 graduate of Sayre High School in Oklahoma.

In 1961 Wayne moved to Oklahoma City and started his career at Christianson Diamond Products. In 1963, he married the love of his life, Wanda Jean Stone. He was drafted in 1966 and served two years in the US Army. Wayne returned home from service to see his first child who was born while he was in Korea.

In 1995, Wayne and family moved to Cedar Lake, Oklahoma permanently after 20 years of weekending. During his time at Cedar Lake, he served as Cedar Lake Chapel's director of music and as chairman of the Western Sportsman's Club. It was during the Cedar Lake years that Wayne's passion for gardening became apparent to all.

After retirement, Wayne's adventurous spirit led him and Wanda to Chapala, Mexico, where he spent the majority of the last 10 years of his life. Wayne loved living and traveling in Mexico and his numerous friends there.
Wayne served as the Chaplain of the American Legion Post #7, and was a charter member of the Lakeside Presbyterian Church.

Wayne is survived by Wanda, his four children: Michaele Vincent, Stephanie Provines, Joseph Vincent and Jody Vincent; 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 7 sisters, and a brother.

Wayne loved to share photos, inspiring messages, jokes, and history lessons with his many friends and family throughout the world. The outpouring of emails, Facebook posts, and phone calls since Wayne's passing illuminates the deep impact Wayne had in his friends' lives. Wayne had a large group of online friends, many of whom he had never met, but who cherished his wisdom, unfailing good humor, and heartfelt prayers.

Wayne's legacy was: Faith, Family, Friends, Forever.
