Pearl Amy Long was born near McCune March 19, 1885 and lived her life time around Columbus and McCune. She was the second child born to Amos Long's second wife Mary Jane Cooper. Amos's first wife Delilah F. Cox had Walter and Sarah Ann. Pearl's other siblings were Edna, Harve and Glen.

She married Tanserd Brooks 4 Mar 1908, in McCune. They had 13 children. Pearl Brooks died in the Columbus Hospital the evening of Saturday, January 27, 1940, the result of burns received in her home in Columbus that Saturday morning. Mrs. Brooks was survived by 5 daughters and 7 sons, her husband, Mr. Brooks and her 5 siblings.

Please note there is a discrepancy in the date of death engraved on the headstone and her actual death date. Pearl Amy Long Brooks died Saturday, January 27, 1940.
