| Birth: | Jun. 21, 1931 Hale County Alabama, USA | | Death: | Nov. 26, 2004 Tuscaloosa Tuscaloosa County Alabama, USA | Lloyd was born the third child and second son of John and Ethel Phares. He grew up around the Moundville area in Hale County and loved to talk about his "adventures" growing up there. He spent most of his youth and young adult years driving one truck or another and logging---his two great loves in life! He eventually had his own logging company and provided a good living for his wife and two daughters. Loved and respected by his peers, he worked hard to build a reputation of honesty and bought many a piece of equipment for the log woods on nothing more than a handshake or a phone call. Known as "Paw Paw" to the young loggers in the area, Lloyd continued to work long hard physically demanding hours through health problems that would have stopped lesser men in their tracks. Those health issues finally slowed him down the last two years of his life and he faded away from us to enter the gates of heaven shortly after midnight Thanksgiving evening. As one of his friends said, "Don't you know Paw Paw is up there in the best stand of timber he's ever seen!"
