David McGinty died in a nursing home in Franklin County, Ohio where he placed himself when he reached the final stages of Hepitis "C".
When David attended our 20 Year High School Reunion in 1988 he was a true dedicated "man of the cloth". He apparently left his ministry, or was forced to resign due to the nature of his illness, as his death certificate shows "Industry Not Classified".
The last time I talked to David, 2002, he seemed very bitter and felt completely isolated and alone because of what this illness had stolen from him and he knew for sure would steal from his future. David talked and wrote on his many blogs, newsletters, etc. hoping to reach out to anyone who'd listen to him and help find a cure for this awful disease spreading throughout the U.S. and around the world. I believe all his anger was directed to this disease because he was forced out of his ministry. A ministry he so dearly loved.
David never married, but he had a "special someone" who he referred to quite frequently in our conversation and if I remember correctly she too was struggling with this horrible disease.
David was cremated and I'm assuming his ashes were probably given to his "special someone".
