[The funeral will take place from the residence of Mrs. Wertsbaugher, corner of Wall and Fourth streets, at 10 o'clock A.M. Sunday, November 8th. Interment in the Durham cemetery]"

Was an invalid in her later years, and taken care of by Mrs. Holland during her last illness ... She died at the age of 44 years. She did not wish to be buried under the earth so a pretentious tomb was built for her above ground. It does not bear the name of Brown, but stands beside the grave of George and bears the inscription ..." [as noted].

*Editor's Note: The mausoleum surrounding the grave of Louisa Durham is dated 1901, the marble front seal 1893(*) even though she died earlier, 6 Nov 1891. The formerly gated southwest corner was permanently blocked when the mausoleum was constructed. The west side of the cast iron fencing was removed to provide access to the gravesite. The picture below shows the original gate and inscription, which has since disappeared.
