|Birth: ||Mar. 31, 1923|
|Death: ||Apr. 14, 2008|
The eldest child of Victor & Irene (Maynard) Starks, Lois was born in Evansville, Indiana. She never grew to be any taller than 4'6" tall, and in her childhood used this to her advantage by touring with a circus as both an acrobat and a contortionist.
In 1946, she married Richard Lord and had two children. They divorced before 1955 and Lois remarried Willard Seaton. They were married for over 50 years at the time of Lois' death, and they were residing in Elberfeld, Indiana. It was here in their family home that Lois raised her two children and a grandson, John, while waitressing at the Farmer's Daughter restaurant, managing a gas station, and assisting her husband Willard with the day-to-day business of his automechanic garage.
Lois enjoyed watching old movies (Perry Mason was her favorite), CNN, and the drama shows that can be found on TNT such as Law & Order, CSI, and Charmed. She was a dog-lover, having owned several different kinds of dogs in her life, and she loved watching the dog shows on television, too. She also had a passion for Butterfinger candy bars and would hide them all over the house. (She even died with one in her hand.)
Lois died at 2:00am on April 14, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Her official cause of death was renal failure. Burial was on April 15, 2008 in Beatty Cemetery in Hancock County, Kentucky following a service at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville, Kentucky.
Survivors include her husband, Willard "Bill" Seaton of Elberfeld; a daughter, Terry Rhodes and husband Bob of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Ricky and his wife, Sheila Lord, of Evansville; two stepdaughters, Katherine and husband Wayne Hartmann of Evansville and Linda Nottoli of St. Louis; a grandson whom she raised, John and his wife, Jessica Lord.
