Arthur Eugene (Gene) Engelhardt married Mary Leona ("Kuchie") Sullivan on March 17, 1952.

A.E. "Gene" Engelhardt passed away at a local hospital on Tuesday, October 4, 2005. Gene was born July 28, 1915 on a farm near Osceola, Nebraska to Arthur W. Engelhardt and Sophia Schnasse Engelhardt. He moved with his family to Corpus Christi in 1936. He went to work with The Corpus Christi National Bank and with the exception of two years in the Army, remained with the bank and its successors until his retirement. He was a vice president and senior loan officer and a respected banker in the community. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and operating his ranch in Live Oake County where he raised registered beefmaster cattle. In 1950 he married Mary Leona Sullivan.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
He is survived by his brother, Morris Engelhardt and wife Anna; his niece, Susan, her husband Michael Ritchey and his niece, Molly, her husband, Gary Goodwin and five great nephews and nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel in Corpus Christi on Friday, October 7, 2005 at 3:00 p.m.
