Donald W. Boughton, 76 who served the City of Danbury as its Mayor, State Representative and City Councilman died on Wednesday morning, November 2, 2011 at his home. Don was born in Danbury, April 15, 1935, a son of the late Donald E. and Louise (Burlinson) Boughton. He attended Danbury Public Schools and Henry Abbott Technical School and was a U.S. veteran of the Korean War. A lifelong area resident, Mr. Boughton was employed with the Perkin-Elmer Corp. from 1964 to 1977. He was an avid reader and golfer. He was a member of Richter Park Seniors, the Concordia Society, the Republican Town Committee, the Amerigo Vespucci Lodge, Korean War Veterans and the Veteran Foreign Wars. In addition to golf and reading, Don enjoyed politics and bridge. Mr. Boughton is survived by two daughters, Donna Moore and her husband, Nelson G. Moore of Danbury and Nancy Boughton of Campbell, California; a son, Mayor Mark D. Boughton and his wife, Phyllis of Danbury,; a brother, Richard E. Boughton and his wife Marceline of Bethel, a sister, Linda Boughton and four grandchildren; Julianne, Nelson Jr., Loralynn Moore and Carter Boughton as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Boughton was predeceased by his wife, the former Rae Linstrum Boughton. A Celebration of Don's Life will take place today , November 5, 2011 at 10:30 in the First Congregational Church, 164 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Boughton's memory and honor may be made to the Friends of the Danbury Library, P.O.
