Kathryn was an educator. She worked in a clothing manufacturing company while going to college, evenings and during the summer. She studied at Towson State College and Johns Hopkins. She received her Doctorate Degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University's McCoy College.
She began her teaching career in Baltimore's inner City Public School System and later, left Baltimore (and her husband, on a part time basis!!) and moved to Fairfield, Connecticut to teach Special Education until her retirement.
After her teaching career, she moved to North Carolina. She was an avid reader of any and all books.
She fell victim to Alzheimer's Desease and was reunited with her husband who cared for her for the last two years of her life.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Ann Almond.
