Felita Ann "Redd" Jackson
Birth: May 2, 1968
New Orleans
Orleans Parish
Louisiana, USA
Death: Dec. 23, 1985
Contra Costa County
California, USA

Felita Ann Jackson, {Redd}, was born to Lillian Ann Parker Jackson and Lester Moore Jackson. Her mother and brother moved to Richmond, California when she was 11 months old. Felita drank Liquid Plummer at 2, survived over 50 surgeries. As an Honor Roll Student at John F. Kennedy High School, Richmond, she was planning to attend Grambling University. Her biography was included in "Who's Who Among High School Students, 1984 - 85 Edition; and won several awards her Junior Year. Six months before her high school graduation, she died as a result of an automobile accident - where the driver was a 19 year old from Coppras Cove, Texas; under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Felita had been modeling for Macy's of California since she was 14 years old and had a good future as a model in front of her. The "Felita Ann Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund" has been established by her Mother, Reverend Dr. Ann Carson, and brothers, Gregory P. Jackson and Lindsey Jackson. She was a member of the North Richmond Missionary Baptist Church, Richmond, CA.

Service was held at Fuller Funerals, Inc., 3700 Cutting Blvd., Richmond, CA; where over 500 students, faculty, family and friends attended on 12-27-85. Funeral Services were held at the Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Plaquemine, LA; officiated by the Reverend W. L. McNell on December 30, 1985 with dismissal on December 31, 1985.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Reverend Ann Carson; stepfather, Ira L. Carson; brothers - Gregory P. Jackson, & Lindsey Jackson; grandparents: Fannie & Oliver Jones, Jr.; Alma & Eddie Elmore, Sr.; A special friend & classmate: Marcus Cooper; nine (9) aunts: Bettye Jean Cummings, Lillian Y. Walker, Pattie L. Elmore, Sheila E. Snearl, Sheryl L. Snearl, and Constance L. Snearl, Virginia Georgetown, Claudette A. Elmore, and Martha Armstrong; three (3) uncles: Walter Georgetown, Eddie Elmore, Jr. and Joseph Armstrong. Great-Aunts: Mrs. Corinne Washington, Mrs. Eola Johnson, and Mrs. Mary Johnson; Great-Uncles: Reverend James Washington, Mr. George Parker, Sr.; Mr. Sylvester {Parker} Dorsey, Mr. Edward Favors, Mr. Alton Favors, and Mr. Lutcher Miller, Jr.; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Our Family hopes that by reading this biography someone may realize that drinking, drugs and driving does not mix. Once a life is taken, it can not be given back. We have forgiven the driver, have suffered the pain through the grace of GOD. Five (5) students were assisted with scholarships to attend college. If you can help someone, do it.

Forget Me Nots because you will never be forgotten. Stopping by to tell you, although you may already know. Papa is not doing well. Wait to meet him and show him the love he was not able to show here on earth. Love you and Miss you. Mom.
