Born to Charles Warren and Helen Louise Cox. Married Paula Griffith on April 23, 1981.
Mr. Cox served in the U.S. Marines as a helicopter pilot, where he had the honor of flying two presidents. He served one tour in Vietnam. He was the owner of Cox Valley Dairy in Meers. He was a volunteer firefighter in Meers and was a former president of the Meers Chamber of Commerce. He was also involved in the Tour de Meers. He received the Citizen of the Year Award in Lawton. Mr. Cox had worked at Paige Aircraft and had also worked for 29 years at Northrop-Grumman. He was currently working for Civil Service at Altus Air Force Base. He was a member of Cameron Baptist Church, where he taught 8th grade Sunday School.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters; Helen Louise Cox-Chedester and her husband Jason, and Amy Jo Goodin and her husband Sidney, all of Lawton, three sons; Donald R. Cox and his wife Shelly, Justin, Texas, Todd Paul Cox and his wife Tracy D., and Chad F. Griffith and his wife Dawn, all of Lawton, a brother; Frank Cox and his wife Glenda, North Carolina, a sister; Jeanette Ward and her husband Charles, Arkansas, and nine grandchildren; Chance Ballard, Sky Chedester, Dallas Goodin, Josh Goodin, Zane Goodin, Jesse James Cox, Cody Cox, Brooke Cox, and Paige Marie Griffith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother; Charles Ray Cox.
Funeral services at Cameron Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Jones, pastor officiating. Burial with military honors under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.
