Richard Neal "Dick" Cropper, 76, returned to his Father in Heaven August 20, 2010 at his home in Central Valley. Dick was born October 14, 1933 in Salina to Paul P. and Louise Fenn Cropper. He grew up with two brothers and one sister.

He married Carolyn Jean Vance December 26, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They raised two sons and one daughter, later raising and adopting their granddaughter.

Dick served his country honorably and faithfully during the Korean and the Vietnam wars. He retired with honors from the United States Army as a lieutenant Colonel after 22 years of service.

After retiring from the military, Dick moved his family to Utah where he pursued another career as the Bus Transportation Director for the Sevier County School District where he worked diligently for another 20 years,
retiring in 1999.

Dick was a devoted member of the LDS faith serving in
many capacities in the Church including 10 years at the Manti Temple. He loved serving others and the Lord.
He was a devoted husband and father who loved and supported his children and grandchildren. Dick had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need.

Dick is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Carolyn, Central Valley; children: Rick Cropper, Central Valley; Randy (Christy) Cropper, St. George; Lisa (Randy) Hall, West Jordan; and Amanda Cropper, Central Valley; five grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; brother Jerry Cropper, Central Valley; sister, LuAnn Powell, Kansas City, Kansas; and sister-in-law, Marge Collins Cropper, Central Valley.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Kent Cropper, sister-in-law, Deon Peterson Cropper; great-grandson, Brock Riley Cropper.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Central LDS Ward Chapel in Annabella. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary, 50 S 100 W, Richfield, and again Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the ward chapel in Annabella.

Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery with military rites by the Utah Honor Guard. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at
He died of a heart attack at his home in Central Valley after returning home from camping at Fishlake.
