Aunt Vina was born in Tenn. and moved to Missouri as a child. She never married, her sweetheart went to fight in the Civil War and never returned. She lived all her life in a cabin in the woods, chopping her own wood and cooking her own meals. She had no children of her own but dearly loved her nieces and nephews and told them many stories of her life during the war years, showing them treasures she had like the button from her brothers Civil War uniform.
As she grew older nearby relatives kept an eye on her and helped with the heavier chores. As long as the smoke came from her chimney in the morning they knew she was alright. On March 10, 1934 there was no smoke from the fireplace, Aunt Vina had passed on in her sleep and gone to join the rest of her family.
Thank you Milou for sponsoring Aunt Vina, it is very much appreciated.
