Mr William "Bill" T. Robertson passed away at residence R.R.#2 Springield Ill. He was the son of Berton & Effie Edith Long Robertson. Married Margaret Ruth Woodruff in Bowling Green MO. Mr William Robertson was an member of the Illinois Operating Engineer's Union.
He also was a member of the Riverton Christian Church.

Some of the things he always looked forward to do was : early Spring to go and hunt sponge mushrooms, early Summer to go & gather wild gooseberries for a Gooseberry Pie, & go fishing, Plant Zinnias and Marigolds, in the Fall he often enjoyed a bonfire and for the Winter he enjoyed hunting rabbits and setting up a Christmas Tree with it's lights leaving the rest of us to decorate it and the house. Some Winters enjoyed making those big fishing nets using a foot long wooden shuttle type of needle and refinishing furniture.

Some other things he enjoyed was to have his potatoes planted by or on St. Patrick's Day of March 17 each year.
At an early age he learned to swim in the river and ice skate. Loved to watch Western Movies, and followed the St. Lewis Cardinal Baseball team.

By the way before I Forget He was an U.S. Veteran in the Army as a M.P. on the Panama Canal. The 1930 U.S. Federal Census shows him in the U.S. Army from Illinois.
He also worked for the C.C.C. in Northern Az. in the 1930's

He loved to tell a lot of his early life histroy to his Son-In-Law James Hansen.
He tried to follow in his father's type of work but healthwise coal-mining did not agree with him.
