Sande Burns was the daughter of Cleo Franklin Greene and Crystal A. (Padgett) Greene; she became a member of a prominent Boone County political family when she married Michael Eugene Burns on February 4, 1964; she was the mother of Bradley Eugene Burns and Boyd Franklin Burns; grandmother of Joshua, Liza, and Alexandra Bernadene; Kathryn, Courtney, and Samantha Kay. Long active in the Republican party, she had worked for Indiana Attorney General Ted Sendak, Lt. Governor Robert Orr, Lt. Governor John Mutz, and Boone County Superior Court One Judge O. A. Kincaid lll. Cause of death: cancer.

Ah, February...you received a red rose on the 4th, which would have been our 49th wedding anniversary. And there will be another one there on the 17th...an unbelievable ten years since you left us. And yet I hope somehow you know...we are still one.
