Son of William Franklin Alfred Ellis and Julia Mae (Coleman) Ellis Culley.

Married to Georgia Nadene (Colvin) Ellis Pritts on August 14, 1931. Father of Edward Eugene Ellis and Robert Lee Ellis.

Married to Leoma Lissetta (Sanford) Amos Ellis on June 23, 1944.

OBITUARY:

William Ellis, Former County Treasurer, Dies

William E. Ellis, 77, former Kosciusko County treasurer and a resident of 3590 East Laurel Rd., Nokomis, Fla., died unexpectedly at 4 a.m. Wednesday in the Venice Hospital, in Venice, Fla.

The son of William and Julia (Coleman) Ellis, he was born in Lafayette, Ind. on Jan. 28, 1908. In Speedway City, Ind. on June 23, 1944, he married Leoma (Lee) Sanford. She died in 1978.

Ellis was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Lafayette and a graduate of Central Normal College in Danville, Ind. He served two terms as Kosciusko County treasurer from Jan. 1, 1967-1972. He also worked for Crystal Preforming and Packaging Co. and owned the Sports E Store on South Buffalo Street.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Warsaw, past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge No. 2378, Englewood, Ind., member of Leesburg Masonic Lodge No. 171, Scottish Rite and Mizpah Temple in Fort Wayne, and was a life member of the Kosciusko County Officials Association.

His survivors include two sons, Robert Ellis, Warsaw, and Glenn Amos, Chicago Heights, Ill., one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Moore, Warsaw; one brother, George Ellis, Lafayette; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends in Chamness Funeral Home, Warsaw, from 1-3 p.m. Sunday.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with the reverend Dr. Howard Smith, of the First Presbyterian Church, Warsaw, officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.

As a memorial to William E. Ellis, donations may be made to the Kosciusko County Heart Fund. Envelopes are available at the Chamness Funeral Home, Warsaw.
