| Birth: | Apr. 12, 1967 Wilmington New Hanover County North Carolina, USA | | Death: | Jun. 2, 2006 Wilmington New Hanover County North Carolina, USA | Pat, age 39 had gone to do what he loved, and that was fishing. He took his canoe and fishing tackle to Fishing Creek Bridge, something he has done since his childhood. The canoe and tackle were found the next day, but Pat remained missing for 4 more days. He and his wife would have celebrated their 3rd Wedding Anniversary on June 7. Pat lost his son, Christopher in a house fire in 1996. A Fire that started with faulty wiring in the home he had just moved his family of five children and his wife at the time expecting their 6th child. Hurricane Bertha's Eye was only days away from making Landfall in the area. A Storm that would prove to reap even more devastation on his young family. 4 Year old Christopher's funeral plans had to be placed on hold until after Fran blew through and clean up could be done. The local Power Company offered Pat's family a settlement for the Fire, and they bought a new home, but the toll on their lives were too much to hold the family together, Soon there was a divorce, and the family separated. Pat spoke freely about his son, always soft spoken and loving of the boy that he tried desperately to save, receiving severe burns on himself in the attempt. Pat was kind and fun natured, and was just starting his life again after a new marriage. The pain in his past remained in his heart but never on his always smiling suntanned face. He was a talented and professional carpenter employed with Delaney Coastal Construction Co. Patrick loved being outdoors and spent many days, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends, especially cooking out. He was a devoted NASCAR fan, but more especially a fan of #8 Dale Earnhart Jr. Surviving is his wife, Maxine Sebrell Murray; his children, Patrick Lee Murray and Jessica Leann Murray; and stepchildren, Kayla Rae Thompson and Kenzie Elizabeth Flynn; his mother, Shirley Ann Edens; and father, Donald Lee Murray.
