Kevin Keith Gebczyk, age 57, of Tomah, Wisconsin passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014, at his home in Tomah. He was born November 26, 1956, in Tomah, WI to Theodore Alfred and Laurene Oval (Lawrence) Gebczyk. On October 2, 1976, in Reno, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Paquita Taylor.

Kevin attended Tomah High School until his Senior year when he enlisted in the United States Navy. Kevin spent almost 12 years in the Navy, where he served as an ordinance man and fought for his country in Vietnam. Kevin later worked as a recruiter for the Navy, three years before he got out. Kevin has worked at the Gottschalk Cranberry Marsh in Wisconsin Rapids for a few years before starting his career working in various departments at Fort McCoy. He worked in transportation until 2003 and as a military pay technician until 2011, and retired in 2012.

In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching baseball and football. Kevin had a passion for American History, baseball and football card collecting. He also enjoyed his hobby as a gunsmith, playing euchre and coin collecting. More than anything, Kevin loved spending time with his family & Razz.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathryn of Tomah, WI, his 3 sons, Tyrell (Julie) Gebczyk, of Tomah, WI, Forrest (Kate) Gebczyk, of Onalaska, WI, and Robert (Stacy) Gebczyk of Tomah, WI, grandsons, Brayden, Broawyn and Nolan; mother, Laurene of Tomah, WI, sibling Jacqueline (George DeRaedt) Sullivan of Marengo, IL, Sandra (Alex) Bell of Tomah, WI, Ted (Joann) Gebczyk of Centralia, IL, and Gail Dvorak of Tomah, WI, and a special uncle, Ron (Nancy) Lawrence, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his cat Razz.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ted and sister-in-law, Sharron Coleman and a brother-in-law, Carl Dvorak and his pal of 18 years, Rubbs his cat.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah, WI. Pastor Ed Stigen officiated. Burial was followed in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Tomah, WI, with military honors. Family and friends were invited for visitation Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah and from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. If you knew Kevin, he would like all to be in casual attire. The Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah assisted the family with arrangements.
