He is survived by his wife, Mary Pogue Mauffray of Kiln, one son, Michael A. Mauffray, Jr. of Kiln, three daughters, Malissa A. Mauffray Simolke of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Michele L. Mauffray of Kiln, and Miranda D. Mauffray of Kiln, Mississippi; six brothers, Randall Mauffray, Garvin Mauffray, Woodrow Mauffray, all of Kiln, Tommy Mauffray of Ansley, Mississippi, Gerard Mauffray and David Mauffray of Kiln; five sisters, Sylvia N. Hardy of Jacksonville, Florida, Sandra A. Edwards of Kiln, Kathy M. Ashford of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jean Mauffray Jackson of Kiln, and Janet Mary Mauffray of Kiln, Mississippi.

Survived by his eight Grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow H. and Wilda Catherine Lizana Mauffray, three brothers, Harlan Harvey Mauffray, John Mauffray, and Paul Mauffray.

A longtime resident of Kiln, Mississippi. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, Kiln, Mississippi. He was born in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, and grew up in Fenton, Mississippi. Also resided in St. Rose, Louisiana, and Harvey, Louisiana, for short periods of time before returning to Bay St. Louis, where he resided for many years before moving to Kiln.

Visitation was held on Sunday, 18 January 2004, from 6:00 P.M. until 11:00 P.M. at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The Procession was scheduled to leave the funeral home at 10 A.M. on Monday, 19 January 2004, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at Annunciation Catholic Church in Kiln, Mississippi.

Interment in St. Josephs Cemetery, Rotten Bayou, near Kiln, at Diamondhead, Mississippi.
