Cpl. Bevel of Andrews, Texas graduated from Andrews High School in 2003. His favorite class was Metal Shop competing numerous times at the State level, and he enjoyed building trailers and Barbeque pits. Ray loved to work with the youth group at First Baptist Church in Andrews and loved going on Ski trips with the Church. Ray also loved playing golf. He married Brooke Hooper on December 10, 2005 in Odessa, Texas and had planned a career in the Army. Ray's two brothers also are serving in the Army and he was preceded in death by grandparents, Graham Bevel (76429466 ) and Jess Hobbs. He completed the Combat Lifesaver Course in 2006. His awards and decorations include the Purple Heart, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He was 22.
