Daughter of Nils Johannson and Sofia Pettersdotter. Married Claes Albert Carleen, 12 Feb 1908, Axtell, Marshall Co., Kansas. Mother of John Everett and Inez Ruthmarye Carleen.

Mrs. Beda Helena (Nilsson) Carleen was born in Mone, Vastergotland, Sweden, July 31, 1879 and died Thursday morning, November 14, 1968 at the Marysville Infirmary. She had reached the age of 89 years, three months, 13 days.
Mrs. Carleen was a daughter of Nils and Sofia Johansson. She came to the United States in 1901 and located at Providence, Rhode Island. In 1907 she came to Marshall county, Kansas and reisded there until her death.
She was married on February 12, 1908 to Claus A. Carleen, also of Sweden, who preceded her in death in 1945. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by a son, Everett of Beattie,, a daughter, Inez Hoyle of Irving, Texas, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Carleen has been a member of the Mission Covenant Church for the past 60 years and was an honorary life member of the Covenant Women's Auxiliary.
The memorial service was held Saturday afternoon at the Mission Covenant Church, the Rev. E.K. Lindstrom officiating. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Nelson with Mrs. Milton Anderson, organist. Interment was in the Mission cemetery. Casket bearers were Edwin Fitzgerald, Ray Bergmann, Meredith Gaston, Ray Bishop, Elmer Johnson, Oscar Swanson.
