Mrs. Amy Lee, pioneer resident of Pendleton, died on Sunday morning at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Abe Molstrom, 512 Jackson Street. Mrs. Lee was born August 5, 1843 in Pike County, Ohio. Her parents were J. J. Lee and Mary Ormsby Lee, life-long members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The family moved to Iowa when Mrs. Lee was a year old.
She was married in William Lee, February 21, 1858, in Iowa and in 1862 they crossed the plains with her parents in a covered wagon. Mr. Lee died on November 20, 1884 at the family home on Birch Creek. There were three children, one boy and two girls, the son being killed in an accident January 25,1900. Two daughters survive her, Mrs. W. A. Bowman of Pendleton and Mrs. Josephine McLaughlin of Seattle. Three grandchildren, Mrs. Abe Molstrom and Mrs. George Christy of Pendleton and Mrs. Leslie Keller of Seattle, also survive her as do six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Lee had resided in Pendleton since 1886 and was known and beloved for her kindly nature. She was a fine example of the pioneer women for which Oregon is famous. Mrs. Lee was a life-long member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Funeral services will be held at the Bomboy Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 11, at 2:00 p.m.
