Sophia was born April 24, 1827 in Warren county, Ohio to John Albertson Ware and Margaret Roberts. When she was about age 3 she moved with her family to Stony Creek Township, Henry County, Indiana where she lived until 1847.

She married James Osborn on March 9, 1844 in Henry county, Indiana. In 1847 they moved with the Ware clan and several other families to West Liberty, Union Township, Howard, Indiana, just 7 miles SE of Greentown. Others moved on to Greentown.

Their children were James Osborn, born 19 Dec 1844 in Henry county; Tence Lindley Osborn, born August 31, 1846 in Henry county; Charles Ware Osborn, born July 12 1849 in Howard county; Lewis Perry Osborn, born November 11, 1853 in Howard county; Martha Osborn, born abt 1859 in Howard county; Mary Mollie Osborn, born abt 1860 in Howard county; and son Henry Milton Osborn, born August 7, 1865 in Howard county.

In the 1860 US Census James and Sophia are living in Liberty Township (Greentown), Howard, Indiana.

In the 1870 census James and Sophia were still living in Liberty Township (Greentown) with their children Lewis age 17, and Mary M. age 9. Sophia's mother Margaret Roberts Ware was living next door to them. When the 1870 census taker came to Margaret's home, Sophia's son Milton (age 5) was visiting his grandmother (Margaret) so the census taker recorded Milton with her.

In 1880 James and Sophia were living in Greentown (Liberty township) with their daughter Mary (age 18) and son H. Milton (age 14). Living next door to them was their son Tence, his wife Martha A. Long and their 2 sons, as well as her brother Jesse and his wife Lucinda with their 2 sons.

James Osborn passed away on November 9, 1887. He was buried in the Greenlawn cemetery (Lindley Section/Cemetery) in Greentown, Indiana. His headstone reads: "James Osborn, Died Nov. 9, 1887, Aged, 62Y. 8M. 17D." He is located in Section Op (Old Part, Lindley), Lot 46.

Sophia Ware, daughter of John and Margaret, passed away eleven years later on November 5, 1898 in Greentown. She was buried with her husband James in the Greenlawn cemetery (Lindley Section/Cemetery), old part/Lindley, Lot 46. Her headstone reads: "Sophia, Wife of Jas. Osborn, Nov. 5. 1898, [Aged] 71Y. 6M. 12D."

2. 1870 US Census for James Osborn living in Liberty Township, Howard, Indiana. Lists James Osborn (head) age 45, wife Sophia (Ware) Osborn age 40, son Lewis age 17 and Mary M. age 9. Sophia's mother, Margaret Ware is living next door to James and Sophia. Their son Milton was at Margaret's home at the time of the census and was counted with Margaret rather than with James and Sophia. Milton was age 5.
3. 1880 US Census for James Osborn in Liberty Township, Howard County, Indiana. Lists James Osborn (head) age 55, wife Sophia age 53, dau Mary age 18, son and H. Milton age 14. They are living next door to Tense & Martha Osborn and Jessie and Lucinda Ware.
4. Indiana Marriage Collection, 1800-1941 for James Osborn. Married Sophia Ware on 9 Mar 1844 in Henry County, Indiana.
