Only one chair on the porch today.
I packed yours up and put it away.
I sat alone in the late summer breeze
you promised me that you would sit with me.

Only one rocker-only one chair
I looked for you and you weren't there.
So I sat alone and watched the trees
and I realized you were lost to me

Only one chair out in the yard
I knew that this would be so hard
I sat alone and watched the snow
I just don't want to let you go

Only one chair at the window now
I'v struggled through the pain somehow
I sit alone as the spring draws near
I hate it that you're no longer here

We made a promise to never part
so I hold you gently in my heart
and there you'll stay and never leave
because,Big Sis,you promised me

Rebecca Buford-Cunningham
