We lost a heavenly angel and God has brought her home, Shelby Jean Simons 66, of Layton, passed away Aug 24th at 7:30 am after a long battle with cancer. She was and continues to be loved by all that were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her loving husband John B Simons and her 4 children, Angel Wallace (Alex), Ed Simons (Wendi), Jerry Simons (Becky) and Kim Paul (Dave). Shelby had 10 wonderful grandchildren Tabitha, Crystal, Jay, Amber, Karlie, Michael, Tyler, N'tima, Jonathan and Trevor, and 8 beautiful great grandchildren.
Shelby was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints.
Shelby was succeeded in death by her parents Wade & Jewel Ledbetter and her brother Jack Ledbetter.
Shelby was born in Columbia, Louisiana November 11, 1942 and married on Sept 10, 1960 to John B. Simons. They had a long life full of love creating a legacy that all of their children will carry on. Shelby worked hard all her life caring for all her loved ones and now she can finally be at peace being cared for by Heavenly Father.
We love you so much mom and thank you for your kind and giving spirit, all your home cooked meals, never-ending hugs and kisses and for being our best friend and such a great example to all of us. Her services will be held at LDS Stake Center on 60 W Gordon Ave, Layton UT. The viewing will start at 9:00-10:45 and the funeral will start at 11:00.
Shelby will be buried afterward at the Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery South of the Bountiful Temple 1640 Lakeview Dr, Bountiful, UT 84010.
