The deceased was born April 22, 1849 in Monroe, Green Co. Wisconsin. Her parents moved to Allamakee Co. Iowa in the sme year, where she was reared to the age of 32 years then moved to S.Dakota where she was married.
David Gratz Glenn and Susannah V. Elsey was married on the 31 day of August 1884 by Rev. S.S. Vivien of the Methodist Church of Plankinton, S.Dakota, to whom five children were born; four in S. Dakota, 1 in Milwaukee, Wis. Sarah Wilma Glenn, Nov. 29, 1885; Ruby Maud Glenn, April 22, 1887; Roy Glenn, April 21, 1889; Elsey Mabel Glenn, Feb. 28, 1891; Merville Glenn, Aug. 29, 1893.
Last Sunday at Bethel Church August 24, 1906, the funeral wervices were held of Mrs. Susan Glenn. Mrs. Glenn had lived here 25 years and was loved and respected by all who knew her. A large number of friends and relatives gathered at the church to pay their last respects to one who they loved. The service was conducted by Rev. Montgomery and the remains were interred in Minert Cemetary. Two brothers, T.W. Elsey and Henry Elsey of Lake City Iowa and Mr. & Mrs. Minnich of David City, Nebr. wee among the relatives present. Five children and husband are left to mourn the departed one. The younger girl will go home to her uncle T.W. Elsey of Lake City, Iowa and the youngest boy will make his home with the uncle and aunt, Mr. & Mrs. Minnich in David City, Nebr.
Death of Mrs. D.G. Glenn occured at her home in the city on Friday eve last after a lingering illness due to consumption. She was past middle age of life and is survived by husband and family of five children. The funeral occured Sunday in Lybr and cemetary in Post Township. Mr. Glenn is critically ill and the family have the sympathy of all in their sorrow.
